LA PLUME, Pa. – The host Keystone College Giants won a CSAC women's soccer game against the visiting Rosemont Ravens this afternoon by a final score of 2-1. The loss dropped the Raven's overall record to 8-5-2, and 5-3 in the conference. The Giants improved to 5-7-2 (3-3-2 CSAC).
The game started well and quickly for the Ravens when Kerri-Gene Lussier converted a loose ball into a goal from eight yards to give Rosemont a 1-0 lead with only 54 seconds elapsed in the game.
The Rosemont lead would prove to be short-lived, however, as Keystone's Cassie Erhart scored from long range over Jenna Kaiser to tie the score at 1-1 in the 13th minute. The 1-1 score would stand going into the halftime break.
Keystone would score four minutes into the second half as the Giant's Crockford kicked a goal from close range to score what would prove to be the game-winner.
Rosemont outshot Keystone by a 12-7 count, putting five shots on-target compared to three Giants shots on goal, but Keystone's keeper, Katelyn Coon, was able to keep the Ravens off the scoreboard after Lussier's early score.
Rosemont returns home for two consecutive games starting with a match against Gwynedd Mercy University in a key CSAC game on Wednesday, 10/22. The starting time is 7:00pm at the Ravens Athletic Complex.
