Ravens Lose to Marywood Blitz

Scranton, Pa. – The Rosemont Ravens women's soccer team's season was ended tonight at Marywood University as the #4-seeded Pacers blitzed the #5-seeded Ravens and won 3-0 in the CSAC Quarterfinal round. The Ravens ended their season with a record of 9-7-3. Marywood improved to 8-10-1.

The Ravens' offense had difficulty getting untracked, as Rosemont's defense was working hard to keep the game close. Despite being out-shot 27-4 (10-2 in shots on goal) the Ravens managed to keep within a lone goal of the home side after the first 75 minutes of the game.

Marywood's Kimberly Vogan was the source of the bulk of the Pacer's offense tonight, accounting for two of her team's goals. Vogan's scores came from nine shots, four of which were on-frame. Vogan struck early, hitting the net near the top of the goal from beyond 18 yards out to open the scoring in the 7th minute. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Marywood going into the break.

It took a strong defensive effort to hold the Pacers at bay until Vogan scored again to make it 2-0 in the 75th minute on a line drive shot. In the 84th minute, Marywood's Elizabeth Carlson scored on a breakaway to put the game away, 3-0.

Jenna Kaiser, in front of the Marywood goal, did her best to keep the Ravens close, stopping seven of the 10 shots on goal.
