ROSEMONT - The visiting Mount Aloysius Mounties limited the Ravens to six shots (one on goal), scoring three unanswered goals in the second half to win today's men's soccer game by a final score of 3-0 in a non-conference game. The Ravens fell to 1-6 overall while Mount Aloysius improved to 4-5 on the season overall.
The game was played tightly in the first half, with the score remaining 0-0 at the break. But in the second half the game started to get a bit "chippy" with the referee showing the yellow card to seven different players.
The Mounties' Patrick Chea took an assist from Jim Smith on a breakaway to notch the first goal for Mount Aloysius in the 53rd minute. Fourteen minutes later, Trevor Smith would hit a shot into the left corner off of a rebound in front of goal to make the lead 2-0 in favor of the Mounties. The scoring ended just over two minutes later as Graham Hunter scored off a pass from Kevin Oullette to end the scoring for the game.
The Mounties' Justin Hann made one save to earn the shutout win.
Victor Rorriguez and Luke McIlvaine each had two shots to lead the Ravens while Robert Vetrano put a shot on goal for Rosemont.
Rosemont hopes to turn things around when they open their CSAC schedule on Saturday at Immaculata. The game against the Mighty Macs is scheduled for a 3:30pm start.
