Radnor, Pa. – The Rosemont softball team (0-12, 0-4 CSAC) managed only three hits combined in both games of today's doubleheader at Cabrini (8-4, 4-0 CSAC), falling to the Cavaliers by scores of 9-0 (6 innings) and 10-0 (5 innings).
Game 1 – Cabrini 9, Rosemont 0 (6 innings)
Taylor Mohr singled with one out in the first inning, but she was caught stealing to end the threat. Trailing 4-0 after 3 innings, Alyssa Foronda singled up the middle to start the fourth, but she was left stranded as the Ravens couldn't move her along.
Cabrini started the game with a four-run first inning and ended it with another four runs in their half of the 6th.
Taylor Gallagher pitched all six innings for Cabrini for the win, ceding two Ravens hits while striking out eight. Nikki Maurer took the loss for Rosemont, striking out three.
Game 2 – Cabrini 10, Rosemont 0 (5 innings)
The Ravens fell behind early in this game when in the first inning the Cavaliers put together five hits and scored seven runs, while taking advantage of four Rosemont errors. The Ravens' defense solidified after the first inning as they committed no more errors, but the damage was already done.
At the plate, the Ravens struggled to catch up to Cabrini's Kaitlyn Hohman, who gave up a Jess Versage single and a walk to Taylor Mohr for Rosemont's only two baserunners in the game.
Of the 10 runs scored by Cabrini, only four were earned runs given up by Rosemont pitcher Maggie Miller. Miller held the Cavaliers to three runs in her final three innings of work. Miller struck out two and didn't walk any batters.
At long last, the Ravens are due to play their home opener at the Ravens Athletic Complex on Wednesday, 4/1, when they will host the Baptist Bible Defenders in a CSAC doubleheader beginning at 5pm.
