Mighty Macs Chill Ravens' Bats in 2015 Finale

Immaculata, Pa. – The Immaculata Mighty Macs pitchers kept the Rosemont softball team off of the scoreboard in both games of today's CSAC twin bill by scores of 3-0 and 8-0. The Ravens ended their season with a record of 4-27 (3-19 CSAC). Immaculata's record is 15-16 (15-6 CSAC).

Game 1 – Immaculata 3, Rosemont 0

Mighty Macs' pitcher Caitlin Brasier limited the Ravens to four hits and shut out Rosemont in the opener of today's doubleheader. Brasier struck out three and walked one.

Rosemont pitcher Nikki Maurer cruised through the first three innings, but Immaculata started to get to the Rosemont pitcher in the fourth inning as the Mighty Macs put a two-spot on the board in the fourth. After two Immaculata base hits, Rosemont Head Coach Erin Skinner had pitcher Maggie Miller replace Maurer in the circle with one out and a run in. Miller was able to tie-down the Immaculata hitters for the rest of the 5th and 6th innings, but the Ravens could not get a run across the plate.

Leadoff hitter Alyssa Foronda garnered two hits in the game, with Gianna Pedone and Taylor Mohr adding a hit each. Mohr's hit was a double.

Game 2 – Immaculata 8, Rosemont 0 (5 inn.)

Immaculata started with a trickle of two runs in the second inning followed by a torrent of six runs in the third inning. Immaculata's pitcher, Meghan Kugler, kept the Ravens' bats silent, giving up three hits with five strikeouts and no walks.

In this game, it was Nikki Maurer's turn to relieve her teammate Maggie Miller with one out in the third frame after Miller gave up the eighth run (only four earned). Maurer completed the game's 1 2/3 innings giving up no hits and one walk.

At the plate, Taylor Mohr had two safeties and Lora Zubrzycki had one to account for the Ravens' three hits.
