ASTON, Pa. - The host Neumann University (11-11, 8-0 CSAC) won a pair of CSAC softball games against the Ravens (0-16, 0-10 CSAC) under beautifully clear skies this afternoon at Neumann's Bruder Field.
In game one, Neumann started out with a four-run first inning against Rosemont starter
Maggie Miller. Neumann added a pair of runs in their half of the 3rd and 4th innings as they won the game 8-0. The Ravens managed five hits in the game, but couldn't plate the baserunners. The Ravens managed only a couple of hits in the game, as
Dani Lelie went 1-for-3 and
Brianna Macauley went 1-for-2.
The Ravens gave up eight runs in total, but Miller was only responsible for four earned runs.
In game two, it was 3-3-3 on the scoring line for the Knights in the first three innings, and those nine runs stood up, as Neumann defeated the Ravens by a score of 9-0.
Charlie Fillmore was in the circle for the Ravens and gave up five earned runs out of the nine runs scored by Neumann.Â
Dani Lelie, the Ravens' leadoff batter, went 2-for-3 at the plate, while
Brianna Macauley,
Lora Zubrzycki, and
Maria Athanasiadis each had a hit in the game.
Lelie went 3-for-6 at the plate and Macauley went 2-for-4 at the plate for both games combined to lead the Ravens' offense.
The Ravens face the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University tomorrow in their final home conference games of the season. It will be Senior Day, and game 1 is scheduled for a 12:00pm first pitch.
