Ravens Celebrate Win on Senior Day

How It Happened

The Ravens and Alvernia Crusaders played a close first half before Rosemont put away the Crusaders in the second half to claim the non-conference win by a final score of 16-9.
 
In the first quarter, three goals from Stephen Licata, and a goal from Ralph Ibezim and Bobby Fritz would give the Ravens a 5-2 lead at the end of the first term.
 
In the second quarter, after the teams traded goals, Rosemont led 6-3 with 11:24 left in the half. From that point, Alvernia put together four straight goals, all on assists from Zach Brommer, to provide the Crusaders with their first lead of the afternoon, 7-6 at the halfway point.
 
The Ravens broke Alvernia's momentum with a vengeance in the third quarter, scoring six straight goals to take control of the game, 12-7. The Ravens held a four-goal lead, 12-8 going into the final period.
 
Rosemont continued opening up their lead in the final quarter by scoring the first four goals of the period to up their lead to 16-8, before Alvernia would score a goal with 1:17 on the clock to end the scoring for the afternoon.
 
Ravens' Top Performers
  • Stephen Licata scored five goals and had an assist for six points on the day.
  • Ralph Ibezim scored four times, including an open-net goal from 40 yards out, and had three caused turnovers.
  • Anthony Bottoms scored twice, both on fakes near the goal, and added three assists for five points.
  • Zach Bowe once again got the Ravens started on face offs, winning 17 of 23. He also scored a goal and added two assists for three points.
  • Josh Chiappetta was credited with four caused turnovers.
  • Kiefer Paul earned the win in goal, saving 10 of 19 Alvernia shots on goal.
For the Crusaders
  • Tyler McDonnell scored three goals.
  • Jarrett Abernathy scored three goals on 22 shots. He was credited with three caused turnovers.
  • Zach Brommer had six points, with a goal and five assists.
