Ravens Celebrate CSAC Win on Senior Day

Team Honors Andrea Dossantos, Nia Hall, Erin Kenny, Gina Ragona, and Jen South

ROSEMONT, Pa. - It was a beautiful day for the Rosemont women's lacrosse team this afternoon, and it wasn't just the weather that was enjoyed by the team and their fans. Before the game, their last home game of the season, the team paid tribute to their five graduating seniors of the Class of 2016: Andrea Dossantos, Nia Hall, Erin Kenny, Gina Ragona, and Jennifer South. In the CSAC game, the Ravens (2-11, 1-7 CSAC) earned their first conference win of the year with a convincing 21-2 win over the visiting Falcons of Cedar Crest College (0-12, 0-7 CSAC). The last time the Ravens scored 21 goals was against Lancaster Bible College on 3/8/2014, when they won 21-1.

In today's game, the Ravens used a balanced attack with eight different players scoring goals, and nine players scoring at least a point.

The Ravens shut out the Falcons in the first half, leading 12-0 at the break. Ahead 13-0, Cedar Crest scored their first goal of the game, but the Ravens would outscore the Falcons 8-1 the rest of the way.

Jennifer South had a day fit for a Senior, as she led the Ravens with eight goals, giving her 45 for the season. She also had an assist to total nine points for the day. All 12 of her shots were on frame, and she was credited with seven ground balls, two draw controls, and five caused turnovers.

Gina Ragona also had a big Senior Day, scoring a pair of goals with six assists to give her eight points. She was credited with three ground balls and three turnovers.

Victoria Kasper had a good game, netting four with an assist for five points. Ali Osorio and Melissa Lynch each scored twice with an assist.

Single goals were scored by Lily Izaola, Alexa Rhoads and senior Andrea Dossantos, playing on the front line.

In goal, senior Nia Hall made three saves on the Falcons' five shots on goal to earn the win.

For Cedar Crest, Vivianna Samite scored both of her team's goals. She had seven ground balls, three draw controls, and five caused turnovers.

The Ravens hit the road for their final two games of the season, but they won't need to travel far for their next contest, as they will cross Montgomery Avenue to face the Bryn Mawr Owls on Tuesday, 4/19, for a 4:30pm non-conference game. The team will end their season on Saturday, when they will face Keystone in La Plume, Pa.
