Ravens Lose Final Two at Home for 2016

ROSEMONT, Pa. - The visiting Penn State - Brandywine Nittany Lions (14-14) defeated the Ravens today (2-22) in both ends of the doubleheader at the Ravens Athletic Complex by scores of 9-0 and 12-1.

After getting their bats going in their prior two games, the same bats had difficulty putting together rallies against the Nittany Lions this afternoon.

In Game 1, PSU-Brandywine put a five-spot on the board in the first inning and the Lions' pitcher Grace DeRosa kept Rosemont hitters off balance, shutting out the Ravens over five innings. The Ravens had three hits in the game, coming from Bailey Schulte, Brianna Macauley, and Kaitlin Fracchiolla. Nikki Maurer took the loss in the circle for the Ravens, striking out five and walking two.

It was more of the same in Game 2, with the Nittany Lions putting five runs on the board in the first inning to ignite a 12-1 five-inning win. Maggie Miller went 2-for-2 in the game with hits also coming from Dani Lelie, Brianna Macauley, and Lora Zubrzycki. Olivia Encarnacion got the win for PSU-Brandywine, ceding one run (0 earned) over five innings of work, striking out six and walking none.

The Ravens are on the road for the conclusion of their season, starting with a CSAC doubleheader at Marywood on Saturday, 4/23, starting at 1:00pm.
