How It Happened
The Rosemont Ravens men's lacrosse team recovered from a 4th quarter comeback by the host Keystone Giants to score the game-winning goal 1:25 into the overtime period to claim the win in the teams' final game of the 2016 season.
 
In what was a relatively low-scoring game, the Ravens outscored Keystone by a goal in each of the first three quarters, taking a 7-4 lead into the fourth quarter. The Giants would not go quietly, however, outscoring Rosemont 4-1 in the final quarter to knot the game at 8-8 with 1:39 left in the game.
 
Zach Bowe won the key opening faceoff and the ground ball to start the overtime period, and Stephen Licata scored the winning goal with 1:25 elapsed in the overtime. The goal was his 35th of the season and the 116th of his career. He will graduate from Rosemont knowing that his final goal was the one that put his team over the top in his final game.
 

Ravens' Top Performers
  • Anthony Bottoms scored a goal and assisted on four others to amass five points today. He also was credited with three ground balls.
  • Ralph Ibezim scored a goal with an assist for two points.
  • Bobby Fritz scored two goals on three shots.
  • Zach Bowe scored a goal, won 13 of 19 face offs (68.4%), and led Rosemont with 12 ground balls
  • Josh Chiappetta had four ground balls with a couple of caused turnovers.
  • Kiefer Paul earned the win, stopping 11 of 19 Keystone shots on goal.

For the Giants
  • Cullen Smith scored a hat trick and had six ground balls.
  • Caleb Strope had four points (1 goal, 3 assists) with six ground balls.
  • Connor Weiler scored one and assisted one for two points with three ground balls.
  • Goalkeeper Matthew Grobelny stopped 11 of 20 Rosemont shots on goal.
