How It Happened

The Ravens fell victim to a slow start in today's rainy and snowy conditions at Gwynedd Mercy. The Griffins started out with a 4-0 lead after 6:34 of play before Zach Bowe scored a man-up goal on a pass from Ralph Ibezim to put the Ravens on the board, trailing 4-1 with 4:34 left in the quarter. The host Griffins went 2-0 for the remainder of the quarter to grab a 6-1 lead.
 
Gwynedd Mercy made it four goals in a row to take an 8-1 lead with 12:16 left in the half. 2: 52 later, Stephen Licata put Rosemont's second goal of the day on the board to make the score 8-2. Rosemont would trail 9-2 at the half-time break.
 
Zach Bowe opened the 3rd quarter scoring with his second of the game; this time on a pass from Anthony Bottoms to keep the Ravens within six goals, trailing 9-3 with 14:05 left in the 3rd. From that point, the Griffins pulled away further, scoring the next three to take a 12-3 lead with 7:25 on the board in the 3rd. Licata would score his 2nd of the day, scoring Rosemont's fourth goal of the day on a pass from Josh Chiappetta, making the score 12-4 in favor of Gwynedd Mercy. The teams would trade goals with Licata nailing a hat trick, assisted by Zach Bowe, to end the scoring in the 3rd quarter with Rosemont trailing 13-5.
 
Gwynedd shut out the Ravens 4-0 in the final quarter.
