Eastern’s Five Goal 1st Half Too Much For Rosemont To Overcome

How It Happened
In this installment of the battle of the birds it was the Eagles of Eastern University that jumped out early and rode that momentum to the win over Rosemont.

The Eagles wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as a little over four minutes into the match Nicole Weenink headed a ball off a corner from Zoe Galvin into the net for a 1-0 lead. Then at the 16:31 mark Eastern found the net again this time on a follow up shot by Emily Cole. In the final 15 minutes of the first half the Eagles would add three more to take a 5-0 lead to halftime.

The second half would see Eastern add one more to take a 6-0 lead on a goal from Alondra Cervantes. From there the Eagles would ride out the remainder of the half to seal up the victory.

Ravens' Top Performers For the Eagles
  • Emily Cole paced Eastern with eight shots (three on target) and scored twice.
  • Alondra Cervantes added eight shots as well (two on goal), a goal and an assist.
  • Goalkeepers Leah Lozzi and Adrianna Rowlands turned away all five shots on goal for the combined shutout.
