Ravens Unable To Topple Giants

How It Happened

Rosemont got off to a hot start this afternoon at the RAC, as only four minutes into the contest against the visiting Keystone College Giants, goals from Victoria Kasper (free position) and Jennifer South had the Ravens in front 2-1. The Giants picked up the next three in a five-minute span to take the lead at 4-2 with 18:49 to play in half number one. South netted her second of the game 34 seconds later cutting it to 4-3. Keystone mounted an 8-1 run to open up a 12-4 edge. The lone Rosemont tally came from Briana Costello on a feed from Melissa Lynch. Ali Osorio and South would sandwich a Giants goal from Savanna Robinson, and at halftime Keystone led 13-6.

South hit the net 57 seconds into half number two pulling it to 13-7. The Giants outgunned the Ravens 10-1 throughout the rest of the period. Rosemont's Ali Osorio beat Keystone keeper Daphne Leenas with 17:55 to go. That broke a streak of five in a row by the visitors. When the final horn sounded it was the Giants leaving the gray turf with a 23-8 victory.
