How It Happened

The fans that braved the hard rain that plagued the Main Line this afternoon were treated to the Ravens' first win of the season, as they defeated CSAC foe Cedar Crest College by a final of 12-10. With the win, Rosemont wraps up the season with an overall record of 1-11 (1-8 CSAC), while the Falcons fall to 0-13 (0-9 CSAC).

Rosemont started the scoring 2:10 into the game when Victoria Kasper netted her 14th of the year to make it 1-0. The visitors answered 23 seconds later off the ensuing draw control, as Lauren Felix deposited one behind Ravens keeper Kiana Davis. Jennifer South put the good guys back in front with 21:22 left in half number one. Felix picked up her second of the day to level things again at the 16:53 mark. Rosemont ended the frame on a 2-0 goal run, as South and Melissa Lynch gave the home side a 4-2 lead at the break.

The goals came quickly in the second half as each team hit the back of the net eight times. First, a pair from South with 27:54 and 26:38 left opened the lead up to 6-2. Kasper added two more exactly eight minutes apart blowing the edge out to 8-2. The Falcons would rally back scoring the next three goals, two from Regina Gill and a solo marker from Felix made it 8-5 with 14:52 to go. Kasper slipped one beyond Cedar Crest goalie Kristen Payes upping the score to 9-5. Gill answered back two minutes later cutting it down to 9-6, but goals from Anna Curry and Kasper pushed the Ravens advantage out to 11-6 with 4:39 left in regulation. Gill buried her fourth of the game 23 seconds later pulling it to 11-7. It took three minutes to find the next goal, when Lynch stuck her second of the day into the back of the net with 61-seconds remaining. However, the final minute was all Falcons, as goals from Shelby Szoke, Gill and Felix ended the game at 12-10 for the Ravens.
