JAMAICA, NY- The Hudson River bus trips seem to be agreeing with Rosemont's bats.
The Ravens produced another doubleheader sweep in the Empire State on Saturday, posting 21-0 and 22-6 wins over York College to cap off an impressive week that saw them outscore their two opponents by a combined 73-6 margin.
The memories of being shutout in three straight games during a recent Florida trip seem to be a distant memory, as the Ravens are getting a good combination of great pitching and timely offense.
In the first game, Autumn Sharkey- who threw a five-inning perfect game on Wednesday at Brooklyn College- followed with a two-hit shutout where she struck out eight and walked only one. The offense produced 19 hits, including four hits by new leadoff hitter Colleen Hall. Melissa Lynch and Kayleigh Whalen each scored four runs in the first game win.
In the nightcap, Christine Broccolino struck out 11 in five innings. Lena Buccigrossi knocked in six runs on 4-of-5 at the plate while adding a triple.
