Pitching, hitting strong again as Ravens sweep DH from Valley Forge

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - Another snowstorm may be on the way to put the big chill on the region. But Rosemont's pitchers are scorching hot and the bats are producing a virtual blizzard of runs.
The Ravens increased their win streak to six straight games, sweeping the University of Valley Forge by scores of 11-1 and 9-1 on Monday afternoon in a game pushed up before the expected arrival of another Nor'Easter.
Since leaving Florida with an 0-3 mark, Rosemont has gone 6-0 and outscored its opponents by a 93-8 margin.
Chief among those who have been at the forefront has been pitcher Autumn Sharkey, who won her third straight start in the first game of the doubleheader on the same day she was named Colonial States Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. Sharkey threw five innings of one-run, four hit softball while striking out six and walking none. Her colleague, Lena Buccigrossi, who was named Batter of the Week by the CSAC, would go 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs in the nightcap to support the pitching of Charli Fillmore, who allowed one run and eight hits in her five innings.
Rosemont is scheduled to start CSAC play on Friday with a doubleheader against Gwynedd Mercy.
