ROSEMONT, PA- The Rosemont women's soccer team took on the Highlanders of Cairn University on Tuesday afternoon and lost 1-0 in double overtime.
Rosemont started the game with great intensity and played excellent defense in the first half. The first half featured a defensive battle and the score was tied 0-0 going into halftime. Cairn outshot Rosemont 7-4 in the first half.
In the second half, the Ravens played with energy and battled hard and played solid defense that was led by
Colleen Hall and
Emily Johnston. No goals were scored in the second half and the game went to overtime.
During the first overtime, no goals were scored. During the second overtime, Cairn scored in the first 32 seconds to win the game. Cairn outshot Rosemont 17-6.
Sophomore goalie,
Emma Lindsay had six saves for Rosemont. It was highly competitive game that featured 12 total fouls, seven by Rosemont and five by Cairn.
Maciana Mazzeo had a shot on goal but was unable to score.
Rosemont's record falls to 3-6. Next up, they face The College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday October 5
th at 12:00pm at home.
