ROSEMONT - With the non-conference schedule now in the background, Rosemont's men's lacrosse team did what teams that hope to make playoff appearances tend to do.
They turned up the defensive pressure.
The Ravens were able to keep the Centenary offense at bay, outshooting the Cyclones by a 42-16 margin on Saturday afternoon en route to a 12-4 victory in the first game of the Colonial States Athletic Conference season at the Ravens Athletic Complex.
The win snapped a six-game losing streak for Rosemont (2-6, 1-0 CSAC) and showed what the Ravens may be able to do now that the league season is underway. Rosemont held the Cyclones to just two goals over the final 56 minutes and 33 seconds of the contest.Â
Dylan Hummel (4 goals),
Brandon Krausse (3 goals) and
Ben Koszelak (2 goals) all scored multiple tallies for the Ravens.
Mason Dennis,
AJ Thompson and
Sal Turelli all scored single goals for the Ravens. Dennis and Hummel both had two assists.
It's a quick turnaround for the Ravens, who have a final non-conference contest against Neumann University on the road on Tuesday. Face-off will be at 4 p.m. in Aston.
