PHILADELPHIA - It was a season of remarkable rebirth for the Rosemont women's tennis program.
An above-.500 record. A trip to the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs. Three players on the All-CSAC team.
Those are the memories that will carry longer than the results on Saturday- a 6-1 loss to Cedar Crest in the CSAC Semifinals at the Legacy Tennis Center in East Falls.
The lone match that finished on the winning side for the Ravens was
Kelly Shaughnessy, who took her match at No. 4 singles from Andrea Abdale by a 6-2, 6-1 margin. It capped off an impressive year for the freshman, who  finished 9-2 in her 11 matches.
That matches the fine years put together by Julie Capece and
Chase Leonard. Neither player was able to finish their singles match before the match clinching point was concluded, so they will end their 2019 season with a nine match win streak in singles. Both were honored earlier in the week with All-CSAC honors.
