Rosemont, PA-The Rosemont Men's Lacrosse team took down the Purchase Panthers 12-8 on Wednesday. The Ravens took the lead quickly with an early goal from JR Stephen McLaughlin, assisted by SR Mason Dennis 1 minute and 18 seconds into the game. SO Shawn-Thomas McConnell followed with an unassisted goal for the Ravens less than one minute later. McConnell scored another unassisted goal two minutes after his first. FR Navarro Blakes bagged his first goal of the game with assist from SR Osaze Thornton, giving the Ravens a 4-0 lead over the Panthers before Purchase rallied back with 2 goals to end the first quarter.
 
The Ravens scored another 4 goals in the second quarter, 3 from McLaughlin and 1 from Dennis. McConnell assisted 2 of the 4 goals. Purchase was able to net 2 goals in the second quarter, sending the teams into halftime with the Ravens leading the Panthers 8 to 4.
 
Heading into the second half, Purchase started with a goal in the 11^th minute, but the Ravens answered with 2 unassisted goals from SR Liam O'Connor and Dennis. The Panthers added another goal in a man up situation with less than one minute on the clock in the third quarter. Both teams scored 2 goals a piece in the 4^th quarter. Both Ravens goals were from Wever assisted by McConnell.
 
McLaughlin led the team with 4 goals, followed by McConnell with 2 goals and 4 assists, Dennis with 2 goals and 1 assist, and FR Greg Wever with 2 goals. SR Liam O'Connor and FR Navarro Blakes each had 1 goal and SR Osaze Thornton had 1 assist.
 
Defensively, SR John Martinelli led with 12 groundballs, followed by Thornton with 7, and McConnell and SR Kenny Wiggins with 6 each. SR goalkeeper Mark Porter recorded 11 saves for the match.
 
The Ravens return to action Saturday on the Grey against Centenary University at 2:00pm.
