Ravens Win Big Against Cedar Crest

Allentown, PA-Rosemont SB opened Conference play at Cedar Crest amid an early spring winter squall.

The Ravens fell behind early in game 1 to the Falcons' formidable offense with a 2-R HR in the 1st inning by graduate student Riley Trembley (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) off of starting pitcher, Jr., Lauren Begg.  The Falcons added three more in the 3rd for a 5-0 lead.

The Ravens answered back in the top of the 4th. Jr., Allie Goodman opened with a double to CF and Sr. Captain, Emily Bingman got aboard after a wind-assisted flare fell in short RF scoring Goodman.  Bingman scored on a PH double by Jr. Gillyan Dewbrew.  The Ravens brought in First year RHP, Myora Slaughter (Kansas City, MO), making her CSAC debut in the bottom of the 4th inning after the Falcons surged again, plating 3 more off of starter Lauren Begg.

Slaughter immediately shut the Falcons offense down with pop-up to Fr, Jade Gomez-Chavarria at 2nd base and a strikeout to end the inning.  Slaughter would contribute to the cause going 2 for 3 with an RBI single and a 3-run smash in the top of the 7th.

The Ravens offense came to life in the 7th, batting around and scoring a dozen in the final frame.  Several Ravens had clutch hits on the day, including: a 2-Run HR (Fr., Olivia Hamme); a PH 1B by Jr., Nina Foy; in the 7th; a hard, line drive by Lauren Begg ricocheted off the leg of RHP (Lillian Boltz) and scored 2; a 2RBI PH 2B by Jr. Mia Viola; and a 3-Run bomb over the CF fence by Myora Slaughter to secure the come-from-behind victory in game 1!
