Ravens Sweep Highlanders, Finish No. 2 in CSAC for Second Straight Season

Langhorne, PA  –

Game 1:

The Ravens potent offense was on full display in the top of the 1st.  All-CSAC nominee, Soph, Olivia Hamme doubled in the first scoring, All-CSAC Nominees Lauren Begg and Emily Bingman for 2 RBI.  All-CSAC Nominee Jade Gomez-Chavarria banged a triple to the gap to score Hamme and fellow All-CSAC Nominee, Analisa Yoder who earned a walk to score 2 more.  The Ravens piled on 5 more in the 5th as they batted around.  The defense was lights out and Begg induced a line out to short, a ground out to short, and a pop-up to second in the bottom of the 5th.  Ravens 9, Highlanders 1 (5th innings).
Lo Begg had the ball in hand for game 1 and maintained control throughout, earning her 6th CSAC victory of the season.

Game 2:

A bit of a pitcher's duel developed in game 2.  All-Conference Nominee, Dani Sharpe, took the circle for the Ravens.  Her counterpart, Sr., Theresa Beck, drew first blood with a line drive double to left center, driving in Sr., Jenna Kenyon for the first run of the contest.  Beck tacked on another RBI in the bottom of the 3rd with a long fly ball to the opposite side (right field) driving in catcher, Myiah Petroro.  The Ravens answered in the top of the 4th by manufacturing a run via small ball.  All-CSAC Nominee, Lauren Begg ripped a single through the middle and stole her 36th base on the season (#3 in the Nation).  Liv Hamme moved Begg to 3rd with a swinging bunt/sac. And 3-yr Captain and All-CSAC Nominee, Analisa Yoder, executed a squeeze play which induced a throwing error from the first-year catcher, Begg scored on the play to put the Ravens on the board.   The Ravens produced the game-tying and the game-winning run in the top of the 6th with a combination of hitting, stealing, and a well-placed/well-timed sacrifice by 2-yr Captain and 3X All-CSAC Nominee, Emily Bingman.  Liv Hamme tied the game with another RBI double and All-CSAC Nominee, Soph., Kendyll Strohl, banged a triple into the right center field gap to score Hamme.  Lo Begg returned to the circle to collect the save on 4 pitches.  Sharpe earned her 7th and remains undefeated in CSAC play this season.  Ravens 3, Highlanders 2.

Rosemont (19-15, 13-3 CSAC) secured the No. 2 spot in the CSAC and earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament, which begins this Friday at Cedar Crest.  The Ravens will be the home team versus No. 3 seed St. Elizabeth's Eagles (22-11, 12-4 CSAC), who they swept at home on April 14th.
