Rosemont, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Men's Soccer Hosted the Lancaster Bible Chargers for Round One of the United East Conference Playoffs.
How it Happened:
Gunner Hoffman started in goal for the Ravens as the Chargers kicked off Round One of the United East Conference Men's Soccer Playoffs.
The Ravens would tally the first shots of the game as
Mason Quinton found two shots early but were both saved by the Chargers goalkeeper. Lancaster Bible would score first in the third minute of the match giving them a 1-0 lead over the Ravens. Rosemont would respond with shots from
Timothy Hall,
Justin Thomas, and
Mason Quinton, but it wasn't until Luke Hume found a shot on a pass from
Mason Quinton where the Ravens would covert tying up the game 1-1 in the 22nd minute. Substitutions for the Ravens in the 25th minute adding
Savien Castro onto the field was crucial as the Ravens would take the lead in the 31st minutes as
Savien Castro would rebounds the penalty shot from
Timothy Kane. This gave the Ravens a 2-1 advantage and they would hold onto that lead going into the half.Â
The second half would start with shots by
Sean Milelli and
Mason Quinton but were both saved by the Chargers Goalkeeper. Yellow cards for both sides in the 70th minute would shortly pause the game as both team were eager to move on to the next round. A corner kick for the Chargers would set up a goal in the 77th minute tying up the game 2-2. The Ravens would continue to push the offense, looking to score before the end of regular time as shots by
Mason Quinton and
Timothy Kane were saved as the Game would go to Golden Goal Overtime.
The first overtimeÂ
Justin Thomas, and
Timothy Hall would find quality shots but were saved by the Chargers defense. The Ravens would hold the Chargers to only one shot attempt in the first overtime.Â
The second overtime
Justin Thomas would find an early shot right, but the Chargers would find the Golden Goal advancing them to the next Round of the United East Playoffs stunning the Ravens at Home.Â
