Owings Mills, MD| The Ravens Traveled to Maryland to compete in a Double Header United East Matchup versus the Notre Dame of Maryland Gators.
How it Happened:
Lauren Begg took the hill for the Ravens in Game one as they started game one of this double header.
Top of the first Begg got on with a single and with heads up base running was able to steal two bags and get to third. Setting up an opportunity for
Emily Bingman who drove Begg home on a fielders choice to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. Bottom of the inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs the Ravens held the damage to two runs giving the lead to the Gators 2-1.Â

Allison Goodman and
Kylee Kubitschek found singles to get on base but the Ravens were unable to drive them home leaving them stranded. Bottom of the inning
Lauren Begg settled in going 1-2-3 with a strikeout.Â
Top of the thirdÂ
Kendyll Strohl reached with a single but a fielders choice by
Emily Bingman got Kendyll out.
Analisa Yoder would double driving in
Emily Bingman to tie up the game 2-2. Bottom of the inning the Begg gave up a single but managed to hold the runner getting the next three batters.
Top of the fourth The Ravens bats cooled of going 1-2-3, and the bottom of the inning Begg gave up a double but did no allow a run bringing back up the Ravens.
Top of the fifth
Lauren Begg and
Kendyll Strohl found themselves reaching by errors but with runners on 2nd and 3rd with one down, the Ravens left the runners stranded. Bottom of the inning Begg went 1-2-3 striking out the last batter looking.Â
Top of the sixth
Allison Goodman was Hit by a pitch but was caught trying to steal second as the Ravens moved to bottom six still tied. An error would allow in a run, before a wildpitch would allow in another run giving the Gators a 4-2 lead.
Top of the seventh the Ravens were unable to comeback losing 4-2.
Game 2:
Cheyanne Willoughby took the mound for the Ravens to start game two.
Top of the first the Ravens were unable to get a runner on base going 1-2-3. Bottom of the first Willoughby got off to a shaky start before settling in during the second inning. She would allow three walks in the inning leading to three runs. Managing the damage Willoughby was able to get out of the inning.
Top of the second with two out
Olivia Hamme would double into the gap but would be caught trying to steal 3rd. Bottom of the inning Willoughby settled in getting three outs but hitting a batter in the inning.Â
Top of the third inning,
Kylee Kubitschek would draw a walk with one out, a double play would end the top of the fourth. Bottom of the inning Willoughby would find a strikout and allow 2 hits in the inning but with the help of her defense the Ravens held the Gators lead to 3-0.
Top of the fourth, Begg led of with a single as Strohl was hit by a pitch to put two on with no outs.
Emily Bingman would ground out moving the runners over before
Analisa Yoder would hit a sacrifice ply to drive hom the first run of the game. Bottom of the inning the Gator would tack on another 2 runs with one out making the score 5-1. Willoughby would do a great job of limiting the hot bats of the Notre Dame keeping the score at 5-1.
Top of the fifth
Ryli Kifolo was hit by a pitch as
Michaela Kent came into pinch run, as the Ravens were unable to drive her home trailing 5-1. Bottom five, Willoughby came out strong after giving up a leadoff single forcing three outs using her defense behind her.
Top of the sixth was a hit parade for the Ravens,
Kendyll Strohl would get it started for the Ravens with one out followed by a walk by
Emily Bingman.
Analisa Yoder would single driving in a run, putting runners on the corners.
Allison Goodman would draw another walk to load the bases, bringing up
Olivia Hamme who grounded into a fielders choice as the Gators got the force play at home. With two outs and the bases juiced
Ryli Kifolo would be hit by a pitch driving in a run, followed by a single by
Kylee Kubitschek to tie up the game 5-5.
Shona Willoughby would keep it going for the Ravens with another single bringing in another run to take the lead for the Ravens 6-5. Bottom six Willoughby would give up a walk before
Lauren Begg would come in for relief. with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, Begg would find two pop outs and a ground out to hold the Ravens one run lead.
Top of the seventh a pitching change for the Gators would hold the game to one run as the Ravens were unable to add any insurance going into the bottom of the seventh. Begg would come in a close the game out earning a save, going 1-2-3 with three balls in play.Â
