Men's Lacrosse Dominates in Home Victory Versus St. Josephs of New York

Bryn Mawr, PA | The Rosemont Ravens Men's Lacrosse Program Welcomed St. Joseph's University of New York to the Rosemont Athletic Complex.


How it Happened: Starting in goal for the Ravens was #15 James Czarnaski.

The Ravens got off to a hot start as #9 Kody Lubischer found the first goal of the game for the Ravens to take a 1-0 lead. #22 NaVarro Blakes would find the Ravens second goal about three minutes later assisted by Jayden Hogg. The Ravens would take a 3-0 advantage after another goal by Lubischer. St. Josephs would respond with a goal of their own before Rosemont would extend their lead 6-2 to end the first quarter. Two of these goals would be scored by Jayden Hogg and the other by Blakes. 

St Josephs would come out hot to start the second scoring two goals cutting into the Ravens lead. Jayden Hogg and Frank Usavage would respond with back-to-back goals for the Ravens to take a 8-4 lead. Defense would shine on both sides through the middle of the second quarter before Kody Lubischer and NaVarro Blakes added on two more goals for the Ravens going into the half leading 10-5.

Andrew Menold would come into goal for the Ravens to start the second half.

The Ravens would keep their momentum in the third as Frank Usavage would find his second goal of the game followed by Greg Wever for his first goal of the contest. A rally by St. Josephs would cut the Ravens lead to five (12-7) before Greg Wever and NaVarro Blakes would add two more goals each for the Ravens. Bai Saine would score to end the third giving the Ravens a 17-8 lead headed into the fourth. The Ravens would add three more goals in the fourth coming from Ralph Juedy, Michael Dukes, and NaVarro Blakes to capture their first home win of the year 20-8.

The Ravens were led by NaVarro Blakes six goals and six assists, followed by Nathan Howe on defense with 12 ground balls and 5 casued turnovers.

The Ravens will be at home this Monday March 24th, as they pick up a rescheduled game Versus Immaculata University at 4pm on the Grey. Go Ravens!
