Bryn Mawr, PA| The Rosemont Ravens (8-8) took on The Cairn Highlanders (0-16) in a United East Conference Matchup.
How it Happened:Â
Game One: Josie Krieman took the ball for the Ravens as she would dominate in a ten strikeout shutout. She would only allow four hits in the contest and no walks on 71 pitches.
The Ravens offense would get started early as
Kendyll Strohl would lead off with a triple, scoring on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the second inning, Rosemont would rally with two outs as
Rose Chando would double, followed by an RBI double from
Josie Krieman. Strohl would draw a walk followed by an RBI single from
Alicia Gotts to score Krieman. Emilee Dickenson would keep the rally going for the Ravens with a two RBI single as she was throw out trying to stretch the double. The Ravens would lead 5-0 after the second inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning Mylayna Blanco would lead off with a single but would be out on a fielders choice by
Rose Chando. She would advantage to third with great base running as
Josie Krieman would walk and steal a bag as the Ravens had two runners in scoring position with one out.
Kendyll Strohl would hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Chando, extending their lead 6-0. In the bottom of the fifth
Olivia Hamme would lead off with a double followed by another double by
Maria Harrison. Getting to third on a wild pitch, Maria would steal home to end the game as MyLayna Blanco walked ending the first game 8-0 in the fifth inning.Â
Game Two: Caitlin LeGreca would take the ball for the first four innings for the Ravens.
Cairn would get on the board in the top of the first inning taking an early 1-0 lead over the Ravens.
Kendyll Strohl would lead off the bottom of the first inning with a walk stealing second as
Alicia Gotts would reach on a error moving Strohl to third. Emilee Dickenson would hit a two RBI double to give the Ravens an early lead.
Maria Harrison would get hit by a pitch followed by a single from
Kylee Kubitschek to load the bases for the Ravens. MyLayna Blanco would reach on fielders choice scoring Dickenson to give the Ravens a 3-1 lead responding the the early run by Cairn.
Kendyll Strohl would lead off the bottom of the second inning with a double followed by a single from
Alicia Gotts.
Olivia Hamme would double with one out scoring Strohl and putting Gotts on third base.
Maria Harrison would be hit by another pitch to load the basses for
Kylee Kubitschek. She would ground into a fielders choice scoring Gotts to give the Ravens a 5-1 lead. In the bottom of the third inning
Rose Chando would lead off with a double followed by
Josie Krieman reaching on an error.
Kendyll Strohl would get hit by a pitch loading the bases and forcing a pitching change for the Highlanders. Chando would score on a wild pitch followed by a two out single by
Olivia Hamme scoring two more runs to give the Ravens an 8-1 lead. In the bottom of the fourth
MaLayna Blanco would reach on an error and advance to second on a wild pitch.
Rose Chando would also reach on an error advancing to third as Blanco scored.
Kendyll Strohl would reach on an error scoring Chando to give the Ravens a 10-1 lead.
Alicia Gotts would move from right field to pitch for the Ravens, she would walk two as the Ravens fielding would make an error allowing a run but the Ravens would hold onto their eight run advantage to take game two in five innings 10-2.Â
