2026 Outdoor Track Team

Men's Track and Field

Rosemont Track and Field Awards Ceremony Speech by Dr. Yolanda Alovor

It has truly been a privilege to support this track team this season. While we got a later start than most, what stands out to me is how every single athlete showed up, committed, and improved. That's not easy to do when you're playing catch-up, but this team never used that as an excuse.

At every meet, we saw progress. Not just in placements, but in discipline, consistency, and measurable improvements in running times. That tells me everything I need to know about this group. They did the work.

I want to take a moment to thank Coach Wootten for leading this team with focus and intention. Also, thank you to Shiann Arthurs and Jeremiah Baylor for your support and commitment to these student-athletes. It takes a team behind the team, and that was evident this season.

I've been grateful to serve in a supporting role with this group and to watch their growth firsthand. As we head into our final meet on March 8 at West Chester University, I have no doubt they will represent with the same level of effort and pride they've shown all season.

Now, I'd like to recognize a few individuals:

Our Most Valuable Player, Terah Pendleton. As a first-year runner, Terah didn't just participate she committed. Through practices and workouts, she showed discipline and growth that set the tone for what's possible.

Our next recognition goes to Seth Langford, now in his second year. Seth brings more than performance, he brings energy. He consistently encourages his teammates and keeps the spirit of this team strong. That matters.

The Coach's Award goes to Brandon More. Brandon is an incredibly competitive athlete who consistently pushes himself to be better, and just as importantly, challenges those around him to rise to that same level. That intensity and drive don't just improve his own performance—they elevate the entire team.

I also want to recognize Makaila Keith for the impact she's had on this team throughout the season. Makaila brought a steady presence, a positive attitude and a willingness to support her teammates in any way she could. The kind of consistency and character she demonstrated doesn't always show up on a stat sheet, but it plays a huge role in building a strong, connected team.

To the entire team what you've demonstrated is resilience, growth, and accountability. You didn't need a perfect start to have a strong finish, and that says a lot about who you are.

Thank you, and congratulations to all of you.
