Jesse Zafiratos


Head Men’s Soccer coach Jesse Zafiratos returns for his second season in 2020 as the Ravens have high hopes and expectations for this fall in claiming their first CSAC Championship in program history.

In his first season he quickly doubled the win total and led the program to their first CSAC Championship game appearance in seven years. They got there by clinching the #4 seed, and then upsetting #1 seeded Centenary on the road in the semifinals to advance to the conference championship. There they were dealt a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to a regionally ranked Keystone College team and fell one game short of an NCAA tournament berth.
 
Zafiratos came to Rosemont after an impressive three-year stint at Penn State Brandywine. There he compiled a 50-10-3 overall record while leading the Lions to their first ever USCAA National Championship in 2018. His team’s won three straight PSUAC Conference Championships from 2016-2018. In 2018 the team set a school record in wins with 18, which also included a school record 16 game consecutive winning streak. During his time at Penn State he was named 2018 Philadelphia Inquirer Small College Coach of the year and 2017 PSUAC Coach of the year. He left Brandywine as the programs all-time leader in wins (50) win percentage (.840) championships (4)
 
Prior to his time at Penn State Brandywine, Zafiratos spent five seasons as an assistant at Widener University. He was in charge of all aspects of recruiting and working primarily with the forwards.
 
On the youth side Zafiratos is a full time administrator and senior staff coach with the prestigious Lower Merion Soccer Club. There he serves as the Regional Assistant Director of coaching and is also in charge of running the College Advisory Program. He coaches the 2009 Stealth and 2004 Ambush boys teams who both compete on the regional level.

Collegiately, Zafiratos played NCAA DIII soccer at La Roche College in Pittsburgh. There he was a three -year starter, senior captain, and led the team in goals as a junior, and assists as a senior. He tallied 21 career goals and 13 assists over his career. He helped the Redhawks qualify for three AMCC playoff appearances, while graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. 

He holds a USSF “B” Coaching license and currently resides in Villanova, Pa.
