Michael Denton

Coach Mike Denton is entering his second season as an Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach while also serving as Assistant Athletic Director and Compliance Coordinator at Rosemont College.

In his administrative role, Denton supports the Director of Athletics in planning, operations, and departmental initiatives. He oversees NCAA and United East compliance, including eligibility, recruiting, amateurism, and playing and practice seasons. Denton leads rules education for coaches, staff, and student-athletes while managing certification processes, transfers, and waivers. He also serves as the department’s Title IX Officer and Game Day Administrator, ensuring institutional integrity and adherence to NCAA policies.

Before his current role, Denton worked in Athletic Operations, where he managed scheduling, transportation logistics, and game-day operations for 14 NCAA-sponsored sports. He also gained extensive experience in sports information and live media production as a Graduate Assistant, overseeing social media, live streaming, and statistical operations using BoxOut Sports, Sidearm, and OBS.

On the field, Denton served as Rosemont’s Head Junior Varsity Baseball Coach in 2025, leading a 12-game schedule against NCAA Division III and NJCAA Region 19 opponents. He continues to assist the varsity program as the pitching coach, emphasizing player development and academic balance. 

A native of Country Club Hills, Illinois, Denton began his collegiate baseball career at Prairie State College (Chicago Heights, IL), where he earned his Associate’s degree in 2021 and captained the team as a pitcher. He later transferred to Rosemont College, earning a B.A. in Sport Management (2023) and an M.B.A. in Strategic Leadership (2024).

At Rosemont, Denton was a two-year team captain and member of the inaugural baseball team, finishing his career with the most pitching appearances in program history through its first three seasons. He earned CSAC All-Academic (2022) and United East All-Academic (2023, 2024) honors, and was the inaugural winner of the Baseball Coach’s Award (2024).

Denton also represented Old World Baseball in the summer of 2022, competing internationally at Prague Baseball Week, where he pitched against the Czech National and Spain National Teams.

A former President and Conference Representative for the Rosemont Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (RSAAC), Denton has consistently been apart of Rosemont Athletics for 5 years.

He currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware.
