Ross Trachtenberg

Ross Trachtenberg joined the Rosemont College community in the fall of 2020 as the College’s first baseball coach. In August 2025 he was promoted to the role of Director of Athletics. Additionally, Trachtenberg has been an adjunct professor in the Business Department teaching Sport Management classes while advising Sport Management majors.

Coach Trachtenberg guided the Ravens through their inaugural 2022 campaign with 35 players and collected a half dozen wins along the way. The team was recognized by the Colonial States Athletic Conference coaches as the recipient of the 3-D Award for Team Sportsmanship. This prestigious accolade "recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 2022 team also led all conference baseball programs in overall team GPA and the total number of student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.

The 2023 team increased its win total to 15, and Trachtenberg was named the Baseball Coach of the Year for the Colonial States Athletic Conference for his efforts. The 2024 Ravens Baseball team earned the program’s first playoff berth winning 8 United East Conference games. The 2025 team graduated 22 seniors and earned conference victories over 5 different opponents.

Trachtenberg was tasked with building the baseball program at Rosemont College after five seasons at West Chester University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. During his time at West Chester, he helped the team win a PSAC Championship, NCAA Atlantic Regional title, and an NCAA Division II National Championship.

Trachtenberg returned to the Philadelphia area to coach at WCU after spending one season with Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Baseball in Claremont, CA. As the team's lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Trachtenberg helped guide the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens to a 28-win season and a spot in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Playoffs.

Prior to his season in Southern California, Trachtenberg was on the coaching staff at Neumann University in Aston, PA, serving as the program's recruiting coordinator and head junior varsity coach from August 2013 through December 2014. Before coaching collegiately, Trachtenberg was the head varsity coach at Friends' Central School in Wynnewood, PA for 10 seasons. Additionally, from 2009 through 2013, Trachtenberg was on the staff of the Geneva Red Wings, which was a summer collegiate team in the New York Collegiate Baseball League. He served as the head coach for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons. A total of 12 of his former Red Wing players were draft selections or free agent signees by Major League Baseball franchises.

Finally, Trachtenberg was an associate scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He helped to identify and evaluate the top high school and college players in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Trachtenberg received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Lehigh University in 2002 and his Master of Science in Sport Management degree from Drexel University in 2015. In 2025, he also earned his Master of Business Administration degree with a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership from Rosemont College.

Trachtenberg lives in King of Prussia, PA with his wife, Lori, their daughter, Claire, and son, Casey.
