Ravens Mount Comeback, Stretch Win Streak to Three

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Rosemont women's soccer team staged a comeback from an early 0-1 deficit to score four unanswered goals to win today's CSAC game against the host Cairn Highlanders this afternoon for a 4-1 final score. The win is the third straight and the third consecutive conference victory, moving the Ravens to an overall record of 8-4-2 (5-2 CSAC). The Highlanders fell to 3-8-1 overall (2-5-1 CSAC) with the result.

The Highlanders struck first, and quickly, as Alicia Curry kicked her 5th of the season from teammate Courtney Novak to put Cairn up 1-0 with only 2:13 elapsed in the game. The Ravens were awarded a penalty kick in the 30th minute, and for the second consecutive game, defender Courtney Whelan kicked it true to tie the game at 1-1. That was the score entering the half.

The Ravens were the beneficiaries of an own goal in the 47th minute to give them a 2-1 lead. Just three minutes later Rosemont struck again when Kerri-Gene Lussier fed a pass to Paige Snyder who kicked it home for her first goal of the season, and the third of the game for the Ravens.

In the 61st minute Cassidy Steiner kicked a corner to Kerri-Gene Lussier who headed the shot home to give the Ravens the 4-1 final score.

Jenna Kaiser made six saves in goal for Rosemont to earn the win, playing over 61 minutes in front of the net. Andrea Dossantos played the final 28:49 in front of goal and shut out the Highlanders over that span, making two saves.

The Ravens next take a trip to La Plume, Pa. on Saturday when they face the Keystone Giants in a CSAC game scheduled for a 2:00pm start.
