ROSEMONT – The Rosemont women's soccer team was shut out by the visiting Marywood University Pacers, 2-0 today in CSAC play. The loss dropped Rosemont's overall record to 5-4-2 (2-2 CSAC). For the Pacers, their overall record now stands at 2-8 (2-1 CSAC).
Marywood's Kimberly Vogan scored the Pacer's first goal on a bullet off of a set piece to put the visitors ahead 1-0 in the 10th minute. Brianna Untener scored Marywood's second goal in the 24th minute, kicking in a cross from Alixandria Fiore to make the score 2-0.
The Raven's defense held tight the rest of the way, but Marywood's defense was also tough as no additional goals were scored over the final 66+ minutes of the game.
In one of Rosemont's best scoring chances, the Ravens almost hit in the 5th minute of the game when a header by Kerri-Gene Lussier hit the crossbar.
The Ravens, who have started their longest home stand of the season, will try to get back on the winning track when they host Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday, 10/8. The kick-off against the Gators is scheduled for 4:00pm.
