LANCASTER, Pa. – The Rosemont men's soccer team fell to the host Lancaster Bible College Chargers this afternoon by a final score of 4-2 in a non-conference game. The loss snapped the Ravens' three-game winning streak, as Rosemont's record now sits at 4-7 overall. With the win, Lancaster Bible improved to 7-4-1 overall.
The Ravens fell behind on three Charger goals in the first half. Lancaster Bible scored in the 4th, 18th and 44th minutes to end the half with a 3-0 advantage over the Ravens.
Rosemont started a comeback effort early in the second half, and Luke McIlvaine took advantage of a penalty kick in the 50th minute to put Rosemont on the board, trailing 3-1. Ten minutes later, the Chargers would net another goal to take a 4-1 lead, and although there was time left for a Rosemont rally, the clock was not their ally.
The Chargers held the Ravens off the board until the final 45 seconds of the game, when McIlvaine chipped the ball over the Charger's keeper into the goal to end the scoring for the afternoon.
Max McDonald made eight saves in goal for the Ravens.
The Ravens next travel to Clarks Summit on Saturday, 10/11 for a CSAC game against Baptist Bible. The game against the Defenders is scheduled for a 3:00pm start.
