Rosemont, Pa. – The Rosemont College women's basketball team dropped a 75-59 game to the visiting Eastern University Eagles tonight in their season-opening game in front of a packed Alumnae Hall Crowd. The Ravens have an 0-1 record to start the season while Eastern moved to 2-0.

The Ravens battled the Eagles closely in the first stanza, holding a 4-point lead with 7 minutes left before the break, but Eastern outscored Rosemont 15-3 down the stretch of the half to take a 32-24 lead into the locker rooms.

Eastern slowly pulled away from the Ravens, who trailed in double figures for the remainder of the game.

Liz Coyne led the Ravens with 17 points. Her teammate Curtrena Goff scored an impressive 13 points while Olivia Crenny notched 9 points. Kierra Smith was strong in the paint, leading both teams with 9 boards.

Eastern's Meghan Nowak led all scorers with 21. Gina DiDomenico and Kaitlyn Dougherty each scored a dozen for the Eagles.

The Ravens next face host Susquehanna University in the first round of the Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament beginning on Saturday.
