ALLENTOWN – The Rosemont women's soccer team were credited with out-shooting host Cedar Crest by a count of 30-8, but escaped with a 2-1 win over the host Falcons in CSAC play. With the result the Ravens moved to 4-2-2 (2-0 CSAC). The win was the second straight for Rosemont and they haven't lost in their last four consecutive games. The Falcons fell to 2-6-1 (0-2 CSAC).
The Ravens opened up the game on a strong note as Stephanie Tamburro scored her third goal of the year in only the third minute of play. The Ravens extended their lead to 2-0 in the 25th minute on Lauren Whelan's seventh goal of the year. Cedar Crest's Courtney Long scored in the 36th minute to get the Falcons to within a goal at 2-1.
The teams would continue to play scoreless soccer for the remaining 54 minutes as Rosemont earned the win.
Jenna Kaiser and Andrea Dossantos shared time in goal with each keeper playing a full half. Kaiser was credited with the win, making two saves in the first half while Dossantos saved three and shut out the Falcons in the second half.
The Ravens remain on the road for their next game, a CSAC contest at Cabrini College on Saturday. The game is a rematch of the two teams who played for the CSAC championship in the 2013 season. Game time is scheduled for a 1:30pm start.
