ROSEMONT – The Rosemont women's basketball team were defeated by the visiting Marywood Pacers today by the final score of 62-53. It was the second win for the Pacers (8-4, 3-1 CSAC) over the Ravens (3-9, 1-4 CSAC) this season.
Although the Ravens held Marywood to nine fewer points while scoring 12 more than in their previous meeting, the Pacers came out with a 19-9 advantage after the first 6 ½ minutes were played, and the Ravens struggled to get the lead. Marywood took their largest lead at the time, 17 points, into the half ahead of the Ravens 35-18.
It took 2 ½ minutes for either team to open their account in the second half, with Marywood scoring first to make it a 20-point lead at 38-18. The Ravens would fight back from that point, outscoring the Pacers 14-3 to get back to within single-digits of the lead with 13:27 left to play. But the Pacers steadied to extend their lead back up to 16 points, 52-36 with 7:46 to go. The Ravens still had a challenge left in them, but it would fall short even as Rosemont would chop the deficit to seven points, 55-48 with 1:48 left.
