GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - The Rosemont women's soccer team were defeated at Gwynedd Mercy University this afternoon by a final score of 1-0. Although the two teams involved in today's conference game are both in the playoff picture, Gwynedd Mercy already sewed up the #2 seed and the Ravens locked in the #6 seed no matter what the outcome of today's game.
The Ravens finished their regular season with a record of 6-11-1 (5-5-1 CSAC), while the Griffins ended up with a 11-3-3 (9-1-1 CSAC) regular season record.
The lone goal of today's game came from Gwynedd's Meghan Petroski, who headed in the score off of a corner kick in the 76th minute of the game.
Andrea Dossantos was perfect in front of the goal in the first half, saving both Gwynedd Mercy shots on goal. Jess Tadley earned the shutout win for the Griffins.
The #6 Ravens will open their post-season with a CSAC Quarterfinal game at #3 Centenary in Hackettstown, NJ on Monday, 10/26.
