Galloway, N.J. – The host Ospreys of Richard Stockton University (1-0) got off to a quick start in tonight's season-opener for both teams. The Ospreys piled up 13 straight goals to open up the game and they were able to hold off a Ravens comeback attempt as Stockton took the game by a final score of 18-6 in a non-conference match-up.
The Ravens (0-1) started to put goals on the board in the final minute of the first half as Ralph Ibezim and Justin Regan scored two goals within the last 29 seconds before the break. Stockton took a 13-2 lead into the major break.
The Ravens kept their scoring streak alive when Tyler Ferrara scored off an assist from Anthony Bottoms with 8:53 on the clock in the 3rd quarter. Rasool Smith scored the Raven's fourth straight with 6:05 left on the clock.
It was Stockton's turn to score late in the period, netting two before time expired, to take a 15-4 lead into the final quarter.
Bobby Fritz tallied Rosemont's fifth goal to open up the scoring with 30 seconds elapsed in the 4th quarter. The Ospreys took advantage of a man-up opportunity with 10:59 left in the game to score three goals in a span of 1:29 to make the score 18-5. Rosemont's Justin Regan would score his second goal of the night to end the scoring in the game.
The Ravens stay on the road for their next game when they will play Arcadia University in Glenside, PA in a non-conference game scheduled for Saturday, 2/28. Face off is set for 1:00pm.
