Scranton, PA – The Rosemont women's lacrosse team (1-3, 0-1 CSAC) had a difficult time getting on the scoreboard early in today's game, eventually losing their conference-opener at the Marywood Pacers (3-3, 2-0 CSAC), 15-5, on a chilly afternoon in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The Pacers scored the first seven goals of the opening half before the Ravens'
Powell Davis put one into the net for the Ravens with 1:22 left in the half. Marywood responded with another score to put Rosemont behind 8-1 at the break.
Marywood would score the first two goals in the second half to take a 10-1 lead.
Kerry Hars sandwiched a Pacers goal with two scores within 3 ½ minutes, but the Ravens would still trail 11-3 with 13:22 left in the second half. Marywood scored the next three goals to go ahead 14-3 with just under seven minutes left.
Hars would score her 3
rd goal of the game with 5:54 on the clock. After a Pacers score,
Laura Bunyard would score for the Ravens with seven seconds left to make the final score 15-5.
Hars led the Ravens with her three goals.
Nia Hall made 16 stops on Marywood's 31 shots on goal and was credited with five ground balls; tops for Rosemont.
Gina Ragona led the Ravens with three caused turnovers. Marywood's tandem of Lauren Smith and Teressa Izzo would stop four of nine of Rosemont's shots on target.
The Ravens will stay on the road for their next game, against Centenary in a CSAC match-up on Wednesday, 3/25. The game is scheduled for a 4:00pm start.
