Rosemont, PA – The Rosemont College men's lacrosse team (2-6) were defeated tonight by the visiting FDU-Florham Devils (4-4) by a final score of 14-3 in a non-conference game under the lights of the Ravens Athletic Complex.
The Devils hit first, as Daniel Minnich scored for FDU to put the visitors up 1-0 with 2 ½ minutes played. Rosemont's Ralph Ibezim answered just 2 ½ minutes later to knot the score at 1-1 with 10:09 left in the first quarter. Both teams struggled to find the goal over the next 7 ½ minutes until FDU's Daniel Minnich scored his 2nd goal of the game to put the Devils up 2-1 to end the quarter.
The Devils would go on to score all seven goals in the second quarter to take a definitive 9-1 lead at the half.
FDU would add five more straight goals in the third to go up 14-1. The Ravens were able to break the Devils' scoring streak, out-scoring FDU 2-0 in the final period, on goals from Bobby Fritz and Tyler Ferrara.
The Ravens' three goals came from Ibezim, Bobby Fritz and Ferrara.
FDU-Florham's Daniel Minnich led the Devils with four goals while David Stewart (3) and Will Kenny (2) also scored multiple times for FDU.
The Ravens next take to the field on Wednesday, 4/1 in what will be a tough match against #11 Cabrini in a CSAC game. The game is slated for a 3:30pm face-off.
