Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Late Ravens’ Storm Damages Giants

Rosemont, Pa. – The Rosemont women's lacrosse team (4-9, 3-6 CSAC) put their pedal to the metal in the second half of today's Senior Day CSAC game against the Keystone Giants (0-9, 0-9 CSAC), outscoring the visiting Giants 14-3 in the final stanza to grab the 18-4 win.

Before the game the team paid tribute to its graduating seniors of the Class of 2015: Laura Bunyard,  Powell Davis, Kristy Evans, Kerry Hars, and Stephanie Marks.

Rosemont opened up a 4-0 lead in the first half with 17:33 left on the clock. Over 10 minutes elapsed before the next goal, scored by Keystone, to make the score 4-1 at the half.

Two minutes into the second half, Keystone would score their second straight goal to make things somewhat uncomfortable for Rosemont, who still held a two-goal lead, 4-2.  But from that point, the Ravens turned on the afterburners to score the next four straight goals to take a commanding 8-2 lead. After the Giants made it 8-3, The Ravens piled up the next 10 straight goals to extend their lead to 18-3. The Giants scored as the final tick on the clock expired to account for the final score.

Jennifer South's five goals and one assist (6 points) made her the top scorer for the Ravens on the day. For Hars, her five goals represented a career-high number for goals scored in a game, topping the four goals she scored against the College of St. Elizabeth in 2012. Ali Osorio's three goals also represented a career-high. Powell Davis and Laura Bunyard each scored twice, while Nymira Nelson rocketed home her first score of the season.

Nia Hall was sharp in goal, saving 13 of 17 Keystone shots for a .765 save percentage.

For the Giants, Emily Hawkins and Britta VanAmburg each scored a pair.

Tonight's game was the team's final conference game of the season. The Ravens will close out their season on Thursday when they will host Hood in a non-conference game on Thursday, 4/23. The game against the Blazers is slated to start at 7:00pm.
