SCRANTON – The Rosemont College women's soccer team picked a great time to pick up their first win of the season. The Ravens (1-5, 1-0 CSAC) opened up their CSAC schedule today with a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over the host Marywood Pacers. It was the first time that the Rosemont program has defeated the Pacers.
In what was a scoreless draw after regulation, Marywood had two corner kick opportunities in overtime, but it was Rosemont's corner kick opportunity in the 97th minute that would end the game when Payton Kanagie scored the winner from Victoria Kasper to send the Ravens home winners after 96:58 was played.
Andrea Dossantos played a perfect game in goal, stopping seven shots on goal from the Pacers.
For Kanagie, the goal was her 2nd of the season, and the second straight game in which she has scored.
After their longest road swing of the year, the Ravens now return home to a season-long six-game home stand starting on Wednesday against their CSAC-rival Keystone Giants in a 4:00pm scheduled start.
