Ravens Fall to Giants' Second Half Surge

Ravens Lead Early in 2nd Half, but Keystone Rebounded with Three Quick Goals

  • Final Score: Keystone 3, Rosemont 1
  • Records: Rosemont (3-12, 3-6 CSAC), Keystone (7-6-1, 4-4-1 CSAC)

How It Happened

The Rosemont women's soccer team took the trip to face the Keystone Giants, with positioning for a potential CSAC playoff up for grabs for both teams.

Jenna Kaiser came up big, especially in the first half, as she stopped four Giant shots on goal. The Ravens were out-shot in the first half by a margin of 11-6, with four Keystone shots and three Rosemont shots being on goal. Neither team would make a dent in the score as the first half ended scoreless.

The scoring drought in the game was finally snapped when Melissa Lynch scored off of a rebound in the 54th minute. It was Lynch's second goal of the year and it gave the Ravens a 1-0 lead.

In the 75th minute, the Giants' Hanna Richner would score an equalizer, kicking a goal from outside the box, over Kaiser, to tie the score at 1-1. Eleven minutes later, Richner would score her 2nd goal of the game and her 5th of the year, to give the host Giants a 2-1 lead with 4:26 remaining in the contest.

There was another goal scored only 49 seconds later, but unfortunately for Rosemont, it came off the boot of Keystone's Cassie Ehrhart at the 86:23 mark to put the game away, 3-1.
