How It Happened

A long trip to Northeast Pennsylvania appeared to put the Ravens in the zone starting out tonight's match as Rosemont traveled to Wilkes-Barre to face the Monarchs of King's College.

The first set proved to be exciting, and the Ravens seemed poised to win the opening set, leading 24-23 with a set point. King's would tie the score, but the Ravens would again put their noses in front, 26-25 for their second set point. The Monarchs rallied, however, to score the final three points to snag the set by a score of 28-26.

King's appeared to keep up their momentum in the second set, taking a 2-0 set lead by winning 25-14.

The Ravens showed some fight in the third set, but they ultimately were defeated by a count of 25-20.

Ravens' Top Performers

Lena Buccigrossi had nine kills to lead the Ravens. She also had three service aces and a solo block.
Kealohilani Naone-Carter had seven kills with two solo blocks.
Leilani Naone-Carter and Morgan Rollins each had three service aces, with Rollins adding a block.
Lovette Jenkins led the team with six digs.

For the Monarchs

Katelyn Shifflett and Alexis Swagler each had nine kills to lead King's.
Jessica Carr and Kristen Bohnenblusch led the Monarchs with service aces, each notching three.
Kelly Pierce was credited with 28 assists while Maddie Kumm had nine.

Up Next

The Ravens will take another trip to Northeastern Pennsylvania tomorrow, when they will face the Giants of Keystone College in a CSAC match. The game in La Plume is scheduled for a 1:00pm start. The match will be the final of the 2016 campaign for Rosemont, and the last tune-up for Keystone as they have clinched a CSAC playoff berth.
