How It Happened

After a scoreless first half, few would have expected an offensive explosion in the second half of today's non-conference game against the host Bryn Athyn Lions. But a second half explosion it would be; especially for Rosemont rookie Sean Borden.

The second half started out on a downer for the Ravens when Bryn Athyn's Zach Brock put the home side ahead 1-0 in the 50th minute.

It would take 15 minutes for the Ravens to respond. And they did so in a big way. Sean Borden would score his second goal of the season, heading in an assist from teammate Nick Bombard to tie the game at one goal apiece. Less than four minutes later, Borden would strike again, on another assist from Bombard to give the Ravens their first lead of the game, 2-1 in the 69th minute.

Borden wasn't finished yet, scoring on an assist from Bryant Campbell to give the Ravens a 3-1 cushion in the 79th minute. Just 42 seconds later, Borden would account for his fourth goal of the game in the 80th minute. The fourth goal would break the previously existing Rosemont program record for goals scored in a game, which was three, held by Luke McIlvaine, who scored two hat tricks: one against Gwynedd Mercy on 10/22/2013 and another against Marywood on 10/4/2014.

A wake-up goal in the 82nd minute from Bryn Athyn's David Camara would narrow the gap to 4-2 in favor of the Ravens. Borden would strike his fifth goal of the game in the 87th minute to end the scoring for this contest, and to end a nine-game winless streak for the Ravens.
