How It Happened
The Mighty Macs opened the scoring after only 33 seconds elapsed, and scored four more goals to take a 5-0 lead with just under 22 minutes to play in the first half. Rosemont hit the scoreboard on a Jennifer South goal from Victoria Kasper with 19:48 on the clock, but Immaculata would answer with a couple of goals to up their lead to 7-1. The teams traded goals, with Rosemont's score coming from South, who scored on a free position shot to make the score 8-2 with 11:18 remaining in the first half. The third goal of the half from Jen South would get the Ravens back to within five goals, but the Mighty Macs would end the half with five straight scores to take a commanding 13-3 lead into the break.
With 16 combined goals scored in the first half, the second half was relatively quiet, as Immaculata outscored the Ravens 4-2 in the second stanza. Rosemont goals in the half came from Victoria Kasper, and the fourth goal of the game from Jennifer South, who scored on a breakaway pass from keeper Nia Hall, who earned her first assist of the year.
Ravens' Top Performers
Jennifer South tallied four goals to lead Rosemont. Two of her goals came off of free -position shots. South also was credited with three draw controls and two ground balls.
Victoria Kasper scored her third goal of the season, and with an assist, had two points.
Ali Osorio had three ground balls and three draw controls.
Andrea Dossantos caused two turnovers and had three ground balls.
For the Mighty Macs
Hannah Verrecchia accounted for almost half of Immaculata's offense, scoring eight goals with an assist for nine points. She also had five draw controls and a ground ball.
Brittany Whaley scored a hat trick and won four draw controls.
Nicole Dominick scored twice with two assists for four points.
Shannon Neill scored once and assisted on three goals for four points. She also had two draw controls.
