How It Happened

The visiting Misericordia Cougars came to Rosemont looking for their third consecutive win, and found the going rough as the Ravens came to play early in the contest. Misericordia opened up the scoring with two goals within 13 seconds to take a 2-0 lead with 8:35 on the clock. Rosemont's Zach Bowe would answer with a goal with 7:29 on the clock to get to within one of the Cougars, but Misericordia would score again 14 seconds later to renew their two-goal lead. Rosemont struck back again with lightning speed when Anthony Bottoms found the net just 13 seconds later to get the home side back to within a goal, trailing 3-2. Ralph Ibezim would score two minutes later to tie the score at 3-3. 43 seconds after that, the Ravens would take the lead, 4-3 on Bottoms's second goal, this time fed from Rasool Smith. The Cougars would end the scoring in the first stanza with a goal with only five ticks remaining on the clock in the first quarter to make the score 4-4.

The Cougars would open up a two-goal lead with 11:22 left in the 2^nd, but Stephen Licata would get Rosemont back to within one, as he netted a goal with 10:44 left in the quarter on a pass from Bottoms. The Cougars went into offensive mode for the remainder of the half, shutting out Rosemont 4-0 the rest of the 2^nd quarter to grab a 10-5 lead at the half.

The Cougars kept up their momentum in the 3^rd quarter as they scored the first five goals of the quarter, making it nine straight scores before the Ravens snapped the streak on a Zach Bowe goal from Ralph Ibezim with an extra-man advantage. The Ravens ended the 3^rd quarter in arrears by 10 goals, 16-6. The teams each traded one goal in the 4^th. Rosemont's goal came from Justin Miller on a pass from Ibezim with 5:20 left in the game.

·         Anthony Bottoms scored two goals with an assist for three points. He also had a ground ball and a caused turnover.

·         Zach Bowe scored twice, with 13 ground balls, winning 18 of 24 faceoffs.

·         Lane Kocovsky scored eight goals and had two assists for a big 10 points. He also had a couple of ground balls and two caused turnovers.

·         Josh Shanker played 49:14 in goal, stopping 8 of 14 Rosemont shots-on-goal.
