Ravens Lose at Lancaster

The Basics

How It Happened
  • The host Lancaster Bible College Chargers scored twice within a nine-second span to put the home side ahead 2-0 with 24:17 left in the first. Rosemont's Jennifer South would respond just 1:14 later to get back to within a goal of the Chargers, but LBC would respond with a 4-0 goal streak within a span of 1:29 to take a 6-1 lead with just over 18 minutes remaining in the half.
  • The Ravens would find the net again, this time with a scoring shot from Gina Ragona on a feed from South to make the score 6-2 with 15:26 left on the clock. Lancaster Bible would score with 13:21 left followed by South's second goal of the afternoon with 11:30 remaining in the first to end the scoring in the half with Rosemont trailing 7-3.
  • A total amount of 20:52 elapsed between Rosemont's goal and the next score, which was the first of five straight by the Chargers. When the streak ended the Ravens found themselves behind by nine goals, 12-3 with just over 11 minutes left.
  • Jennifer South would connect for her third goal of the afternoon two minutes later to make the score 12-4, but the Chargers' Alyssa Wesner netted her 7th and 8th goals of the game to end the scoring with Rosemont down 14-4.

Ravens' Top Performers
  • Jennifer South was the top offensive player for the Ravens with three goals and an assist (4 points), giving her a total of five goals in the first two games of the season. She filled the stat sheet with seven shots (five on-goal), two ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.
  • Gina Ragona nailed her first goal of the year on her only shot this afternoon.
  • Andrea Dossantos, coming out of goal to play defense today, caused three turnovers.
  • Ali Osorio and Victoria Kasper were each credited with two caused turnovers.
  • Nia Hall stood strong in front of the net, making 22 saves on the 36 Charger shots on goal.

For the Chargers
  • Alyssa Wesner had a standout game, scoring eight times with three assists for 11 points. She shot the ball 24 times (18 on goal) and was credited with six draw controls, and three ground balls. Two of her goals came on free position shots.
  • Hannah Thompson scored three times on her seven shots on goal. She also had three draw controls.
  • Goalkeeper Nicolette Statuti played over 50 minutes and earned the win, stopping two of the six Rosemont shots on goal.

  • The Ravens were out-shot by a 47-11 count.
  • Rosemont improved greatly on their clear attempts, successfully clearing on 9-of-12 (75%) today.
