How It Happened

Jennifer South's goal with just over four minutes played would knot the score at 1-1 before the Gators would score four straight to put the home side ahead 5-1 with 22:28 on the clock. Ali Osorio would make her free position shot count to get the Ravens back to within three, trailing 5-2 with 21:12 left in the first half, but NDMU would score the next five straight goals to take command of the game, leading 10-2 with 13 ½ minutes remaining in the half. The Ravens would out-score the Gators 3-2 the rest of the half, but trailed by a margin of seven at the break, with NDMU leading 12-5.

The Gators continued to slowly stretch their lead over the Ravens, up by nine goals at 15-6 with 24 ½ minutes left in the game. Rosemont would again outscore the Gators down the stretch in the half, this time 6-5, but it was not enough to make up the goal differential.
