How It Happened

The defenses and goalkeepers kept today's goal count relatively low in today's CSAC game. The Ravens took the early lead, and slowly built on their lead as the game progressed.

Rosemont opened the scoring with a goal from Stephen Licata with 13:21 on the clock, followed by a Ben Koszelak goal just 51 seconds later to break out to a 2-0 lead. The teams went scoreless for the next 6:16 until Immaculata scored a goal with 5:14 left on the clock, ending the scoring in the first quarter with the Ravens ahead 2-1.

1:23 into the 2nd quarter, the Mighty Macs tied the contest. Ralph Ibezim would put the Ravens ahead, scoring 2 ½ minutes later. The teams went scoreless for the last 11:07 of the quarter as the Ravens took a slim 3-2 lead into the half.

As it turned out, Ralph Ibezim's goal was not his last, as he would go on to score his 2nd goal of the game at the 13:03 mark of the 3rd quarter, and he would make it three straight, scoring again with 12:00 on the clock to give the Ravens a 5-2 edge. A goal by Zach Bowe five minutes later off of a pass from Ibezim would make it four straight goals from the Ravens. Stephen Licata's 2nd goal of the game with 25 seconds left on the clock would make it five straight for the Ravens, who would end the 3rd quarter with a 7-2 lead.

Licata was also not done for the day, notching his 3rd goal with 9;44 on the scoreboard in the 4th quarter. Licata would pick up a ground ball off of a Rosemont shot that hit the post and he would shoot the ball past the Immaculata goalkeeper for his 4th goal of the game (Rosemont's 7th straight). The goal represented the 100th of Licata's career.

Immaculata scored an extra-man goal with 4:11 left in the game, and ended the game with another score with just over three minutes remaining as the Ravens would claim the win.
